This gentle 40-minute loop winds through the quiet lanes of Castel, with a lovely off-lead green lane and plenty of space in the Fairfield for playtime. After the walk, the picnic benches make a perfect rest spot, just remember to bring a flask and snacks as there are no facilities on site.
The Fairfield has long served as a peaceful community green, traditionally used for gatherings and parish events, its name reflects its role as an open “fair playing field” at the heart of local life.
Fairfield can be closed for private events during the summer
Getting Here
From the junction at Castel Church, head down Rue de L’Eglise. Continue past Thompson Motors on your left and you’ll see the Fairfield on your right. There’s a small car park beside the field.
